- What a nightmare year. Anymore years like this then I think us farmers need to just do grass silage. Takes all year to grow. Worst time of year when it's ready.

- Realistically do contractors in the UK and Ireland cover their running costs for harvesting maize silage? Weather at the time of harvesting is normally wet leading to excess fuel consumption, wear and tear etc. Maize normally involves long haulage distances to the pit also.
