- Heirloom seeds are the best and can be saved and replanted year after year. You cannot do this with hybrid plants, meaning small scale farmers actually end up spending more for seeds. You do not need hybrid seeds, these are imported and usually GMO seeds that are not good for us. We have our own indigenous crops that have adapted to our climate and soil, let's please stop listening to westerners about how we should live.
