- In our area all of the fields are cut into bush and have been for 140 years...this year was catastrophic heat without rain in July and August...our corn behind the trees on the north side (no sun) was higher than the glass on the cab of our 9500 Deere...yet the cobs were immature. Bush/trees helped feed our fields with water...as we have water coming out of the side of a few of our hills that comes out of the tree line.

- Really great info ! I would plant a bunch of fruit trees in with the other trees so get the benefit from the their harvest as well .
- Soil releases co2 in the morning. Windbreaks prevent it from blowing away. That's what benefits the crop
