- How can you have that entire conversation without mentioning Phytase and lactobacilli? Humans make a small amount of the phytase enzyme and our processes destroy the phytase in the seeds --- So supplement your phytase and add lactobacilli to add more phytase and ferment and sour so that phytase is present in the food --- the phosphoous based acid can rot your teeth and it blocks absoprtion and disrupts metabolism of magnesium, zinc, and iron --- its a friggin monster --- gluten is not the problem lack of phytase is -- so we either eat it right or do not eat it unless you are supplementing. Phytic acid can rot your teeth in a week-so how bad do you think it is to the rest of your system . Our enzymes are compromised hugely by large amounts of inflammation and fibrin - so eating incorrectly is literally making a mountain out of a mole hill in an ever accelerating fashion -- self-destruction ..... step it up Dr. Axe you are doing good work... I am a fan but add some MAGNITUDE to your delivery. Our enzyme production drops off huge at 27 years and then inflammation ever increasingly dominates our limited resource of enzymes -- Help!!!!
- Vegetables are just culinary naming, there are no biological vegetables,,only leafs(spinach),eggplant, okra, tomato, cucumber, pumpkin(fruit(ripe or unripe)),potato,raddish(root)...so on
- What is your opinion about sprouted brown rice for someone with Lyme disease who has already cut out all grains from their diet (all i eat is sprouts, veggies, some fruit, eggs, meat) ?

Would you still not recommend that, too high carbohydrate content ? or is it different in your opinion? Does the nutritional benefits of sprouted brown rice overcome the carbohydrate related issues ?
- "Once your digestive system is destro- i mean healed" LOL
- Anyone here who got healed eating loads of different sprouts a day?
- Phytates can be a problem for some. But it's definitely not like eating unsprouted grains means ur not absorbing any of the minerals which this video gives that off which is false. You still absorb an decently appreciable amount of zinc and iron from regular ol grains. Plus just eating the rice with vegetables or peppers high in vitamin C does the same thing as sprouting for those minerals
- is barley sprouts edible
- hey dr axe, I heard you say sourdough bread is ok to eat.But isn't it white flour, the scourge of a healthy diet? what gives?

- DR. Josh what would be the advisable amount of sprouted bread that one can consume daily?
- If you seperate the hours that you consume phytic acid, for example eating foods without phytic acid in the morning, and foods with phytic acid at least 8 hours later, will this help absorption?
- Aren't rice grains too?
- "Soaking grains will remove all phytic acid". Incorrect.
"Gluten is bad". Not for everyone.
- Are oat meal(not instant), and brown rice healthier alternatives when it comes to grains?
- <3 thanks great vid
- Thanks for the tips but I would love to know what you consider to be a healing food or the best food
- What about oats & brown rice?
- we have created these grains by enhancing their defensive properties ( gluten, phytic acid) against disease.
Thats why most breads today contain more gluten, in which case grains in general contain alot more phytic acid.
An article posted on Weston a price talks about sprouting for every kind of grain, how long to do it and what optimal temperatures are + how long to soak or roast.

Thats why roasted peanuts are better for peanut butter, roasting will reduce phytic acid, same thing for nuts and seeds. I notice vegetarians and vegans have iron and mineral deficiencies, so they take alot of supplements. They just need to sprout the legumes and grains. You still need to consume good fats, otherwise you wont get proper delivery of vitamins/nutrients, minerals.

only question i have about sprouting, how do you maintain such high temperatures for several days without interruption? Even if i boil water well over room temperature, place in mason jar along with batch of oats to sprout, that heat will dissipate over a short period of time right?  I just thought of something smart, use a thermal! then use a strainer to remove the water. Only problem my tap water is fluoridated, heating water concentrates the fluoride. I need a charcoal or reverse osmosis filter. FUck.
- Thoughts on Long Grain Brown Rice  Steamed  With Braggs Amino Acids on it? Some rice still has green in it.
