- This film is full of actual experiences by filipino farmers who were deceived by GMO companies like monsanto. The seeds you get from GMOs are indeed highly toxic and the label explicitly states so and not to eat them. And yes if they or their carabaos do eat these seeds they get sick. This is the reason for the explicit warning in small font on the seed packaging not to eat the seeds. Roundup causes soil erosion by killing all other plants but the roundup ready GMOs and roundup resistant superweed. These "all other plants" that roundup kills would have rooted the soil in place. With soil erosion, there will be less area to plant and eventually less yield. Roundup is a chelating agent which prevents absorption of nutrients leading to nutrient deficient "high yield" crops. And since crop rotation which is a traditional practice to keep the soil fertile becomes impossible since no other crop will grow on roundup treated soil, the soil will eventually become less productive. But even if that were possible, since roundup is not biodegradable and will still chelate and prevent absorption of nutrients in the soil, crops will still be nutrient deficient. Furthermore, farmers noted new pests that have risen and are resistant to the poison in BT corn. They noted that these new pests are harder to kill and decreased their crop yield even further.
So, after 10 years with BT corn, filipino farmers are saying that it does not result in higher yield in the long run and does not result in better profits. In fact, filipino farmers who used BT corn are now further deeper in debt than they were. Monsanto is preying on farmers whose socioeconomic system has already rendered them poor.
- having read some of the comments here i would like to add my own - im afraid to say that i prefer to believe the farmers in the video who say that eating the gmo corn makes them sick and if they feed it to their animals they die - rather than Don Glenn - all i see from him are words - the big question for me is what is this produce used for if it makes people sick and kills farm animals? The second thing is, if it is used for animal feed then it must make them sick too, the last thing is that if no 2 is the case then you dont need a degree to work out that it is going to make you sick too.
The sad thing is that this is just one of many products from big industry that makes us sick but we still continue to use them, no magic, no science - just common sense - would you cook your food on a stove in a plastic container? of course not but we use teflon?

- Sorry, Don Glenn, I know you are wrong. I was sick. I stopped eating gmo food. I got better and was able to stop taking Big Pharma's gerd drugs. When I consume gmo in food, I get symptoms. America is waking up. Two years off gmo food. Two years educating and I got my farmer to go gmo free.

- You sure can tell that the majority of the people making comments have never sat on a tractor and are just looking for an argument. We farmers do what we can with what we have. We aren't given much of a choice these days as to what we can use to keep up with the demand. In fact most farmers barely break even, feed there own families and that's it. Try pricing organic anything. For me it is cost prohibitive as it is for most. If we just gave up the government would buy us out and then everything you bought would be something you couldn't recognize. Settle down and instead of touting what you read on the internet, talk to some crop and livestock farmers. Get to know what really is going on. Get some REAL dirt on your hands.

- This film is full of lies. I am a farmer and I grow GMO corn. We pick GMO corn from our own fields and eat it. It is not harmful in any way. It does not make you sick, It is not highly toxic. It does not give you diarrhea. Roundup is one of the safest crop protectants we have. The economic problems these farmers have are because of their socieo economic system.
- Monsanto and biotech companies need to stop what they're doing. PERIOD! This will only happen when enough farmers and consumers become educated and refuse to have anything to do with it! Contamination from GM pollen and glyphosate will require farmers to locate supplies of uncontaminated seed and make the change EN MASSE!
- A disturbing film but with a rather hopeful message at the end; I was shocked by the staggering amounts of chemicals needed to "sustain" these GM corn seeds. Surely you don't need to be a scientist to understand that pouring that many chemicals into the land cannot be good for the soil, water or peoples' health? Trace amounts of those chemicals leech into everything, including the food that people eat.
